A large part of VTI's research concerns understanding the human behavior in the transport system. In order to continuously improve traffic safety, it is important to know how the driver is affected by factors like new technology, vehicle characteristics, traffic environment, road design, drugs and alcohol and tiredness. With VTI's driving simulators repeatable experiments can be carried out and realistic driving experiences created. This makes it possible, among other things, to study the effect of the driver's condition and vehicle systems on driving performance.
Make relevant improvements to support data collection for evaluation scenario "VALU3S_WP1_Healthcare_10", which is about evaluating the CardioWheel with respect to driver state recognition accuracy under uncertainty. More specifically, improve the graphic of the simulator to enable night-time driving with better lighting conditions in the simulation. Also, extensions will be made to the simulator so that it can be interfaced with CardioWheel.
